KAIST Advanced Institute for Science-X (KAI-X) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Summer KAI-X Research Internship Program.

> Eligibility

   • Overseas undergraduate students (3rd or 4th year)
   • Graduate students (Master’s course)

※ Students currently enrolled in a doctoral degree program are not eligible.
Fields of study include Natural Sciences, such as:

   • Physics
   • Chemistry
   • Mathematics
   • Biology
   • Brain & Cognitive Science
   • Medical Science

   • Duration: 7 weeks

    January 19 - February 15, 2026, 24:00 (Seoul Time, UTC+9)

   • How to Apply

      • Applications must be submitted via Google Form https://forms.gle/sMq9M6wP6zbPvaN18
      • The application form must be completed in English
      • The Google Form must be submitted ONLY ONCE
      • Applicants may edit their responses after submission using the Google Form edit link before the deadline.
       No edits will be allowed after the deadline.
      • Important Notice
      The application is hosted on Google Form.
      Applicants must log in with a Google account to access, submit, and edit the application.
      Please prepare your Google account in advance.

> Required Documents

Applicants must prepare the following documents before starting the Google Form.
All documents must be combined into ONE single PDF file and uploaded to the form.
Incomplete or incorrectly formatted submissions may not be reviewed.

1. Statement of Purpose (SOP)

   • Approximately 1,200 characters
   • Must include:
      • What you have studied so far
      • Your academic or research plan
      • Your motivation and purpose for applying
      • Your goals and research interests

2. Official Transcript

   • Issued within the last three (3) months
   • Must include an official seal or authorized signature

3. Letter of Recommendation

   • Issued within the last three (3) months
   • Must clearly indicate the program name:
   “2026 Summer KAI-X Research Internship Program”

Applicants must also provide the recommender’s information:

   • Full name
   • Email address
   • University affiliation
   • Title / Position

> Language Requirement

   • All documents must be written in English
   • If any official documents are not in English, a notarized English translation must be submitted along with the original documents

> Selection Process

   • Applicants must select ONE major
   • Applicants may choose up to TWO research fields
   • Final results are expected to be announced in mid-April 2026

> Financial Support

The program provides the following support:

   • Round-trip airfare (actual expenses, up to 1,000,000 KRW)
   • Dormitory accommodation support (up to 500,000 KRW)
   • Living expense support: 600,000 KRW
